About the Commission:


Arizona Flag Mission:  The Independent Redistricting Commission's mission is to administer the fair and balanced redistricting of the Congressional and Legislative districts for the State of Arizona.

The Commission consists of five members: two Democrats, two Republicans, and one Independent. The Commissioners are: Daniel Elder (REP), Joshua Hall (DEM), James Huntwork (REP), Steven W. Lynn, Chairman (IND), and Andi Minkoff, Vice Chairman (DEM).

 UPDATES

1-8-08 : The Commission scheduled a meeting for Thursday, January 10, 2008.  

10-18-05 : The Arizona Court of Appeals issued a decision in favor of the IRC's Precleared 2002 Legislative Map.

6-29-04 : ** New Feature ** Map a single Congressional or Legislative district on the Commission's interactive maps. Pick a district from the lists on the left and click [Map!].

5-28-04 : The Arizona Court of Appeals granted a stay to allow the IRC's Precleared 2002 Legislative Map to be used in the Fall elections.

4-16-04 : The "April 12" map was submitted to Maricopa County Superior Court and ordered to be submitted to the Department of Justice for preclearance.

4-13-04 : The Commission adopted the "April 12" map in response to public comments received and for minor technical changes to the previous map.

1-16-04 : Maricopa County Superior Court decision in Redistricting case.

2-10-03 : The Department of Justice precleared the Commission's Original 2004 Legislative District Map.
